    4. We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or if we believe that such action is necessary to prevent fraud or crime or to protect our Services or the rights, property or personal safety of any person.

We respect your privacy and we will not sell your personal information to any third party. We may disclose data and aggregate statistics about users of our Services and sales to prospective partners, advertisers, sponsors and other reputable third parties in order to describe our Services, deliver targeted advertisements or for other lawful purposes, but these data and statistics will not include information which can be used to identify you.

  6. Transfer of Information

By using our Services, you authorise us to use your information in Hong Kong and other countries where HKLF operates for the purposes mentioned above. We will ensure that your information is transferred in accordance with this Privacy Notice and protected in accordance with applicable laws on personal data protection.

  7. Protecting Your Information

The security of your information is important to us. We have security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, unauthorized access and alteration of information under our control. We also follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the information transmitted to us over the Internet, both during transmission and once we receive it. For example, we use firewalls and data encryption as well as physical access restrictions for our data centers and authorization controls for data access. Sensitive information (such as credit card numbers) are encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL). However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

It is important that you protect against unauthorised access of your Account and information by choosing your password carefully, and keeping your password and Account secure (e.g. by signing out after using our Services).

  8. Storage Duration and Erasure

Your personal data will be stored by us and our service providers in accordance with applicable data protection laws to the extent necessary for the processing purposes set out in this Notice (you may refer to Section 4 “How We Use the Collected Information” for more information on the processing purposes). Subsequently, we will delete your personal data in accordance with our data retention and deletion policy or take all practicable steps to properly render the data anonymous, unless we are legally obliged to keep your personal data longer (e.g. for legal compliance, tax, accounting or auditing purposes). As far as legally permissible or required, we restrict the processing of your data instead of deleting it (e.g. by restricting access to it). This applies in particular to cases where we may still need the data for the execution of the contract or for the assertion of or defense against legal claims, or where such retention is otherwise required or permitted by law. In these cases, the duration of the restriction of processing depends on the respective statutory limitation or retention periods. The data will be deleted after the relevant limitation or retention periods have expired.

  9. Direct Marketing

From time to time, HKLF may use your personal data to send you news, offers, promotions and joint marketing offers and HKLF requires your consent for that purpose. We may contact you by email, in-app notifications, social media, SMS, text/picture/video message, telephone or mail.

Your name, email address, telephone number, contact address, social media contact, date of birth, products and services portfolio information, transaction patterns and behaviors, browsing records, content viewing habits and personal interests held by HKLF may be used by HKLF in direct marketing of the Services and the products and services appearing on the website or mobile application of HKLF and solicitation of donations or contributions for charitable, cultural, philanthropic or recreational purposes, which may be of interest to you.

If you prefer not to receive any direct marketing communications from us, you can opt out at any time by updating your preferences through the "Remarketing" under your personal profile or an unsubscribe link provided or by sending an email to us to the contact details in Section 14 “Contact Us” below. Upon receipt of your request, we shall cease to so use your personal data as soon as possible without charge to you.
